| Ultra-orthodox are not working, not serving in the army, not attending colleges or universities, not paying taxes and only drawing benefits from state. Their birth rate far exceeding secular and they are recruiting even more into their rank, poor olims mostly. If this trend continue in one or two dozen of years Israel economy will just shut down. All high-tech will move abroad, foreign investors run away, economy will slow to crawl. What would happen with poorly educated and unaccustomed to work ultra-orthodox folk ? Do their leaders thinking about future ? I guess not. They will be well off anyway. |
