Mr Adelson is generous in supporting the cause he feels strong about, nothing wrong with that. The fact that -compared to Israeli Jews- these American Jewish kids are relatively prosperous isn`t bad either: Zionism isn`t primerally about economical prosperity, but about Jewish nationalist ideology.
But Adelson`s ultimate goal is not to increase US Jewish support for Israel, but what he really wants is a strong anri-Arab, racist society, built on apartheid-like principles. This import of negative and hateful thought from the US has only reduced the chances of Israel becoming a respected neighbour in the region and obtaining sincere peace and security. for example, we all have seen and heard these extremist settlers in the occupied territories with strong US Englsh accents pushing their apartheid ideals through violence against non-Jewish civilians.
Israelis should reconsider this kind of `help` from the US conservative extremists if it wants to procede towards peace and security. |
