| Thank you, Mr. Adelson. I think that the birthright program is a great idea. It introduces young people to Israel, and perhaps some, and even if it is just a few, will decide to stay and make aliyah to Israel. As far as Mr. Ben Hur`s concern about wealthy Jews, many of the wealthy Jews that I know are intermarried and have little, if any, interest in Israel. This way, the young people get to visit Israel and do not have to ask their parents for the money. The article pointed out that Mr. Adelson`s family asked for charity money so that their child, Sheldon Adelson, could go to a summer camp, and you can be rest assured that Mr. Adelson donates to other charities as well. The United States is an amazing country, isn`t it, where an American can go from rags to riches. More power to him! |
