I believe this constitues a kiddush Hashem b`rabim, a massive demonstration that sanctify`s G-d name in public, equal to a Jewish victim of the Holocaust, like a Jew who dies in a gas chamber reciting "Ahni Maamin", "I believe in G-d". If a minyan of Jews are present, an on-looker will say, G-d is being praised in public as a result of the dead person`s action. This then is a Kiddush Hashem b`rabim, even if the deceased was a low-life, and kol sh`ken, certainly, if the deceased is a highly respected individual, even if he or she was a tinuk sh`nishba and left Judaism as a result. I believe this is the Halacha. |
