Ummm, yeah, you all do realize the Pope and this priest are CATHOLIC, right? It their jobs to not only pray for the coversion of unbaptized people, but to make sure other Catholics do as well. We wouldn`t be good Catholics if we didn`t. We claim that we have the one, true, holy, universal Church that Christ gave the world. Doesn`t that imply that out of love for the rest of God`s children we must pray for them to receive Him as well? It would be hypocritical to do otherwise.
Nobody is saying, "Whew! We can finally go back to hating them Jews!" This is ridiculous. Our church has been damaged with modernism and needs to heal. The Holy Father is doing what`s best for the Church. To think that everything has to pass Jewish, Protestant, Muslim, or anyone else`s ecumenical criteria before that can happen is nuts. Do you want Catholics to start deciding what prayers you can say in the temple or your church? I don`t think so. How dare you even attempt to dictate our Faith to us. |
