The author of the article likely incorrectly paraphrased Feiman when he said the solar cells store light -- they store nothing - electricity is transmitted either to batteries or to the power grid directly. 2. For those wisecracks who say what about at night -- no one is suggesting that ALL power plants be replaced with solar - that would require significant battery storage capability at each house....at night power would most likely be supplied by nuclear, coal or natural gas plants. |
