Sir I read this article about Solar Energy and would like to coment that it hnot been properly researched. A little digging would have determined that the use of parabolic concentration mirrors for solar energy enhances the output of solar cells, but not its efficiency. Today Commercial Solar cells achieve an efficiency of about 10 to 15% so that to obtain the out put atributed to the developer, it would require a very large parbolic mirror, with tracking mechanism to keep the mirror pointing to the sun accuratly. Many such devices have been designed and marketed by companies in the USA but due to the sky high cost of the systems, it is not a viable alternative. Alot of work has been done in that direction using Fresnel lenses but the tracking mechanism allways maked the systems costly and not viable. |
