My ancestors are from Poland and were lucky to get out before the Holocaust. Polish history shows little sympathy or responsibility for the faith of their Jewish brethren. My one short visit to Poland made me feel very uncomfortable!
Whiel these small actiond sre a step in the right direction, anit-Semitism continues ata an alarming rate despite teh fact that so few Jews remain. Those that do I feel sorry for and hope that they get some sense. Remember "The Pianist"? So self-absorbed that he cut himself off from the rest of the world. Not a pretty icture from a country with little humanity. |
