| Government acquiescence, by way of continued funding ofn the "religious" authorities` policies is an embarrassment to practicing Jews and supporters of Israel everywhere. Politicians in Israel have to stand up to the ultra and even not so ultra Orthodox and tell them that they cannot, and will not, be allowed to use public money to keep Judaism in Israel in the 16th century, and more specifically, bring shame upon their religion and all Jews with their racist policies. If we claim to be different than our persecutors, we have to act different. |
