The truth is, we are past the monolithic-hegemonian times of the Ben Gurionism, and woke up to the reality that is far more involved than the dream. The majority of Israeli citizenry is made up of Sepharads-Mizrahi Jews and Israeli Arab (Christians, Druzes, Muslims, Cherkessis and others), thus we have changed the hyphons in the population: multiethnic-multicultural-multireligious.
Now, the Hegemonians-Ben-Gurionism are in a panic: If they have done their joj for the past 60 years in instilling proper principles of Democracy, and acted with lots of integrety; the result would have been satisfactory, and as in the USA where the majority of the Americans are not only RELIGIOUS but also frequently pray in CHURCHES, the Democracy strives.
It is when the supposedly models of the Ben-Gurionism such as Ramon, M Dayan, Ezer Weizman talk the talk but not walk the walk, that the populous starte humming the hypocrisy in the whole picture.
So, I am a very secular citizen, and I am more afraid of the preachers of doom than the actual doom predicted by them should the make up of the population would be short of the Ben-Gurionism, that still is instill even after the destruction and the disapearance of the Kibbutz, which symbolised the apex of Ben-Gurionism. |
