"The co-directors of the Peace Research Institute in the Middle East (PRIME), Drs. Dan Bar-On (Ben Gurion University, Israel)and Sami Adwan ((Bethlehem University, Palestine) present their experiences and the experiences of Palestinian and Israeli history teachers in developing and teaching the `Dual Historical Narrative` booklets to their pupils. Three booklets have been published in English, Arabic, and Hebrew, covering the 20th-Century historical narratives of both national communities, side by side. PRIME has also recruited a new group of Israeli and Palestinian history teachers to train them on how to teach the dual narratives in their classes. The project has achieved international recognition and the booklets are used in several schools in France, Italy and Spain."
Unfortunately they are apparenly not yet in use in Israel or the Palestinian territories. Children from both groups in Israel and on both sides of the Green Line need to hear BOTH narratives. |
