You state that Jews should keep out of Catholic religious affairs as long as Catholics are not interfering with Judaism...
When Catholic prayers call for the conversion of Jews, in effect, the end of Judaism I do believe interference with the practice of my religion is taking place. If this is truly what you believe in then you won`t change but that does not mean I don`t have the right to challenge what is patently offensive and historically dangerous.
In response to another poster, I have no fear in the power of your prayers manifesting in my conversion rather I fear the manifestation of hatred, violence, and a rise in anti-semitism.
So as not to be hypocritical, I do not agree with the modern recital of references in the Talmud or other texts that are negative toward gentiles. But, keep in mind the historical context of any such references if they do exist. Blood libels, the Inquisition, pogroms, etc etc etc. |
