It is vital the Vatican remove the Antijewish prayer from the Latin mass .. because the Archconservatives who demand the return of Latin tend to also be the most virulently Antijewish. These Archconservative Catholics will (correctly) interpret this prayer as permission to "teach contempt" against Jews. Oppositely, the removal of the prayer will be a powerful moderating influence on the Catholicism`s rightwing extremists. The removal will accommodate the rightwing`s right to have the traditional Latin mass, but also demonstrate the authority and legitimacy of the modern Vatican to update and clarify Catholic beliefs.
