| The Birkat Ha`Minim is not a big deal. Jews believe: Nonjews also "go to heaven" (that is, to the Garden of Eden, Paradise) and also will resurrect and have eternal life in the world to come. Nonjews dont need to be Jewish. Only Jews need to be Jewish. The Birkat Ha`Minim only clarifies: a "Notsri" (= a Christian follower of Paul) is not a Jewish religion. Therefore its not ok for a Jew to be a Notsri. But it is ok for a Nonjew to be a Notsri! A Jew must avoid all forms of idolatry or even the appearances of idolatry. Christians seem as if they worship a human, and a Jew must avoid even the appearance of this. But again. Nonjews are not held to Jewish standards. Its ok for Nonjews to be Christians. |
