| I must say this is very good news. There is much to be said for the Latin mass, but triumphalism never was one of its virtues. It has been regrettable in the extreme that Catholics have had to choose between the bundle containing ecclesial humility and poorly played electric guitar masses on the one hand, the bundle containing dignified, non-parochial liturgy and self-satisfied right-wingery on the other. Prayers of thanks are in order for what looks at long last to be a badly needed unbundling. |
