Israel`s first priority must be the security and safety of its Jews.Its non-Jewish citizens must be protected and cared for as well,but Israel must never forget the purpose of its creation:to allow Jews to come back and live in the homeland of their ancestors,in the only country of the world where a Jew is allowed to speak Hebrew and to worship God according to his Jewish religion without the fear of being seen as "a stranger" and without the fear that,should some mad dictator come into power,he would have to once again leave the country and wander on Earth.
All other issues are important,of course,and Israel should not turn its back on international humanitarian issues.But it should not be judged on higher moral standards for these issues than are other countries of the world. |
