"Under Palestinian law, an emergency government can only rule for one month, and any extension requires parliament approval.
"Under the Palestinians` basic law, the president can rule by decree if parliament is unable to convene," he [Shuaibi] said."

So Hamas is too idiotically proud to do anything more than suck its thumb while handing over governmental authority to Abbas who now has no choice but to rule by decree.

Oh yes, 41 Hamas legislators have been "rounded up" by Israel (whatever that means) so they would not have a majority, anyway. But one would think they would at least have replaced missing representatives with acting reps and tried to voice an objection to Abbas` actions. But they haven`t even the politcal sense to sound off legally. Instead, Haniyeh stands on a soapbox and enunciates rhetorical reproaches while the world laughs/cries over his sad predicament.

Well, the old saying declares that pride goeth before a fall. Just desserts?

Bye, Bye Hamas
