internalized that the physical, economic, social and political separation between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank is permanent.
It is also high time we all, and especially the Palestinian Arabs began to seek alternatives to their predicament. The days of the "two-state solution" are over.
Now it is time to think about the best possible way of incorporating most of the West Bank, based on an agreement with Israel of course, into Jordan, and the incorporating of the Gaza Strip into Egypt. In both cases all residents of the respective territories should become Jordanian and Egyptian citizens, Arabs and Jews alike, and on this basis some would be able to resettle in under populated areas of the eastern bank and the Sinai peninsula.
Jordan and Egypt have had peace agreements with Israel. Now it is time to see that the disputed territories come under the same agreements as part of these two Arab countries, taking over Arab territories with the backing of the Arab League. |
