I am against all forms of censorship, no matter what. I would rather there be free speech than any ridiculous measure to measure what I may see, say, or feel. I am from Canada where even I feel that country has too stricht laws restricting free speech. What next- the Knesset, with all of its "morals", deciding that I cannot view sites that have, for example, critical views on Zionism? Israel? Judaism? It`s a slippery slope once one thing is censored this way.
Of course children must be protected from these kinds of things- but guess what? That`s the parents` job! It is there responsibility to protect their own children from such things. The cost won`t be passed on to the consumer? Knowing this country, no way- it will, I am sure these ISPs will find a sneaky way to do so. And so in the end of the day, we consumers will be paying more for our internet. Then again, that would mean less money for people to use on those pay-for-porn websites.... |
