| I don`t think you`re that concerned with the "evil" sometimes expressed in talkbacks. Leaving aside the intrinsic value of free speech, I think you just don`t like criticism. Like our unaccountable politicians, you journalists think you`re some kind of elite, the source of "correct" opinion & analysis, not subject to criticism by your intellectually inferior audience. But just like our politicians, many of you are really quite mediocre, spouting "conventional wisdom" & politically correct nonsense hidden behind a great deal of rhetoric to disguise the superficial thinking that characterizes much of journalism today. Many of you are too closely linked to political figures, so much so that your articles should be labeled "paid political advertisement". And just like our politicians, when you spout nonsense, you should be criticised, even ridiculed. You are not some kind of intellectual elite raining wisdom down upon us ordinary people like some high-priesthood exempt from accountability |
