"Israel on Wednesday called on Hamas to free an Israel Defense Forces soldier it is holding, saying that the militant group is responsible for the delay in the release of Palestinian prisoners as part of a swap for Corporal Gilad Shalit."
A deal has always been on offer from Hamas for the release of Gilad Shalit.
As Talkback regulars will know, the problem is not Hamas but Olmert, whose eggshell-thin ego will not permit the Palestinians anything resembling a victory.
Shalit will be released, but it will take a large number of Palestinian prisoners to secure it. Olmert won`t pay the price. |
