Still peddling the long discredited fake thesis that Joan Peters put forward in "From Time Immemorial"?
I know, you want to invent a reality in which Palestinians do and did not exist. Anything but to admit that the Palestinians were the indigenous people of the fertile plains and rocky hills of Palestine. A few migrants may have come from Syria to work in Palestine, but the vast bulk of the Palestinian people were settled where they always where: in the hundreds of ancient villages, many of whom were destroyed in 1948 and in the ancient towns and cities of Jerusalem, Nablus, al-Khalil, Jaffa and Haifa. The Palestinians as we know them now are the descendants of the ancient peoples (pagan and Jewish), who lived there in Roman times and before. Through the ages there were admixtures of blood from foreign invaders, notably the Arabs from Arabia, but the vast bulk of the people has always been where they were.
Mahmoud Darwish gives eloquent expression to this.
