why not use Cindarella? she could make a nice metaphor; after being mistreaten by her evil stepmother and step-sisters, instead of waiting for a fairy-godmother, she could revolt against their tyranny.
Another good alternative might be Fivel, from an American Tale, the mouse who was chased away by the cats, then got the mice together. Didn`t he have a secret weapon?
How about Batman? Does not Batman have an underground network of tunnels where he hides his weapons for fighting villians?
