This should not come as a surprise: Both houses of Congress are now controlled by the Democrats. With all due respect to human rights abuses, the Democratic Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, recently visited Syria. This is the same Syria that is allied with Iran, brutally occupied Lebanon (not to mention represses its own people), and supplies Hezbollah with weapons.
And Hezbollah is the organization that started this war last year in the first place.
Hezbollah is no friend of the U.S. either: It killed 241 U.S. servicemen serving in Lebanon in 1983.
I`m not saying Israel should have used such cluster bombs. But Hezbollah, which is a LEGITIMATE POLITICAL ENTITY in Lebanon, deliberately chose to fight this war from civilian population centers.
Also, let`s remember that Israel dropped leaflets warning civilians to flee areas that were going to be bombed, so Israel did NOT target civilians during the war. |
