Concise OED says - philanthropist a person who seeks to promote the welfare of others, especially by donating money to good causes. Nothing here about benefitting the whole species. I presume you mean, since he`s giving to Jewish and Israeli causes, that he hurting the rest of the human race? In that case, you know exactly where you can put your definition.
