Perhaps the refugees were not welcome because of their women`s fashion. An earlier photo in Haaretz featured an African refugee lady - wearing the hijab. Perhaps these poor people had heard that Israel was the only `democracy` in the M.E.
What a shame Israel, you missed the chance to show that you really can be a beacon to humanity, that democracy does practice empathy and compassion. You missed the chance to teach a better way, you could have been a living example of love and hospitality. Israel the Holy land... what? |
