Actually, Natallie, the refugees probably compared average living conditions, inflation, a right to practice any religion, etc., and chose on that basis. You seem to be convinced in the invincibility of your version of the world. Belief perseverance, psych. experiments identify people`s inability to over-ride previous beliefs, even when they are clearly shown evidence to the contrary of their previous beliefs. You seem to be unable to even consider that Israel is the desirable place to be, despite the hard work of its neighbours. Those refugees went to Israel, not Iran, Syria, Jordan, Egypt (well, they did pass through Egypt on their way to Israel, didn`t care to stay though...).
