| Israelis are always so consumed by how the world sees them and yet never understand the inevitable, simple truth: as Jews! Therefore if the writer is so preoccupied by the "chilul hashem" and the, gimme a break, "dignity of the state", he should be aware that not punishing a serial rapist sends a far more damaging report of Israeli society than the fact that a rapist turned up in Israeli government at all. That someone could be a rapist is out of anyone`s countrol. Israel is no different than any other country. But having a system that effectively gives justice to the victims is something for Israelis to be proud of. The greatest disgrace was the decision to let a rapist off the hook. This writer thinks Israel`s dignity was preserved? He has it ass backwards. |
