"What exactly are Mazuz`s critics afraid of? That Katsav was not sufficiently humiliated?"

This journalist appears to be unaware of the purpose of the legal system, which is to uphold the laws of the country.
One of the laws holds that women should not be raped. It proscribes severe penalties for those who do rape. These include very long periods of imprisonment.
These periods of imprisonment are designed:
1. To punish the rapists
2. To take the offenders off the streets so that they cannot commit other rapes
3. To deter other, would-be rapists
4. To give the victims some sense that justice has been served, that they have been avenged, that there is a degree of closure to the incident, that society has recognised the extent to which they have been wronged, and acted appropriately.

The law is not designed to "humiliate" rapists - that follows from the public revelation of their crimes.

It is clear that justice has in no way been served by this case.
