| I sympathize with you as a mother and a wife, but not as a settler. Remember, for many years you lived off the "fat of the land" and at the expense of Israeli taxpayers. Billions were spent on your security, your cheap, subsidized housing, your roads and your schools, while over one million Israelis languished in poverty, while housing prices skyrocketed, while infrastructure (roads, railroads, industry) was neglected, while schools were - and remain - overcrowded. Now you are being granted compensation which the inhabitants in development towns and poor neighborhoods can only dream about. Many soldiers died or were inured protecting you so that you could live in a hellhole where you had no business being. We Israelis owe you nothing, but nevertheless the government has decided to be generous with you. Just shut up and take what you get. |
