Facts do indeed speak louder than words. I encourage anyone, who has not yet been in the Westbank, to go there and see for yourself what is happening on the ground. The encirclement of Arab East Jerusalem is being completed with the building of more colonies between Maale Edumim and the eastern outskirts of the city. The whole of the Westbank is dotted with Jewish colonies, connected by Jews only roads. The landscape is dominated by a ghastly concrete abomination. The Jordan valley has been declared off limits to Palestinians. The expansion is ongoing and attempts to ethnically cleanse the Palestinian population from its lands, leaving just a few crumbs. The unilateral disengagement from Gaza had nothing to do with a negotiated political solution. Gaza was lost anyway. Sharon drew the right conclusion and put an end to the colonizing venture there, so that he could focus entirely on the colonizing project in the Westbank. |
