| As we have seen before, the evacuation of a few settlers can be a messy, noisy and even violent thing. If there were to be a Palestinian state in the west bank, Israel would need to evacuate many THOUSANDS of settlers. The IDF would have a crisis because many soldiers would refuse to participate in the evacuations. The state of Israel would have a huge crisis bordering on civil war. Do you think for one moment that if Israel had any intention of evacuating the west bank, they would currently be EXPANDING the west bank settlements, as they are doing? Even if Olmert was the stupidest man alive, he would not expand the settlements if he wants to make a Palestinian state in the same spot. |
