| I was surprised to read that millions of shekels of southern Israeli agricultural produce passes through the commercial crossings into Gaza. The report was that Barak, as Defense Minister, will patch up a system of mutual understandings so that commercial traffic can resume above the subsistence level of humanitarian goods--which continue (with water/electricity/fuel) notwithstanding anti-Zionist conspiracy charges of "starvation blockades". Then again, from news photos, the Palestinians on the other sides of these checkpoints are truant masked louts. |
