| Come off it, CK. I don`t dispute some of the IDF actions were aimed at Hezbollah launchers. Of course they were. But the reports from inside Lebanon during the war and after were just too consistent. The IAF flattened bridges, airports, factories, blocks of flats and loads of other civilian targets with no connection to launchers. They then finished off by scattering cluster munitions across big chunks of southern Lebanon. The Croat Serb leader is currently on trial for firing cluster munitions at Zagreb. IDF generals and politicians may one day end up in the same situation. Whatever you may think, I actually have some respect for the IDF, who, in the Occupied Territories are attempting to do an impossible job, and doing it not as badly as some armies would. Havinng said all that, the recent Lebanon war was probably the IDF`s darkest hour, in terms of moraility and competence. Denying that doesn`t help Israel or the IDF in the long run. |
