| When people mix up G-d with earthly agendas the result could not be worse. The "Orthodox" Muslim`s religion has become the voice of the greatest hatred and intolerance against the Jews since Hitler`s days. And we must recognize that a great part of our Orthodox leaders have become the voice of anti-Muslim racism and the bastion of the settler movement which is one of the great barriers towards peace in the Holy Land. Neither the Jewish nor the Muslim religion teach hate or favour conflict, strangely enough it is their followers who do. It is their followers who defend "holy" wars. It is high time that religious leaders woke up and took the responability of doing G-d`s real wish, which is PEACE and uderstanding between people. It is an explicit commandment at least in the Torah to seek peace, and after a lot of soul and heart searching I can`t see many religious leaders on any of the sides of the Middle Eastern conflict looking for this. |
