MK`s can never keep their promises to an electorate because once they are elected, all flavours of opinion are allowed to vote and the result is always therefore average and not the sort of commitment they give from the electoral platform. THe Sha`s Council of Torah Sages seems to deny democracy, but if these men are truly humble and truly loving then their best desires for the Nation would still not be enough.
Divine Guidance also allows for Man`s free will, and Judaism is about the Almighty and there is nothing we can do for Him the crux is what He can do for His people. See Psalm 110. To vote for someone as an acknowledgement of previous services to Judaism, particularly when the subject is also allied to an organisation that is contra honest open faith, is indeed bizarre.
I suppose if the Lord does not like it, He could always remove him from life, as He did an unsuitable pope! |
