When speaking on Canaan; "Hashem appeared to Abram & said, `To your offspring I will give this land`". "For all the land that you see , to you will i give it, and to your descendants forever" "On that day Hashem made a covenant with Abram, saying, `To your descendants have I given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates river`" These are just a few of instances of the Torah where it documents the land of Canaan (as it was known before it was renamed Israel) being given to the Jews... The borders are clearly documented, so your comment is a little obsolete. As for who wrote the Torah: Orthodox Jews believe the Torah is the word of G-d. Progressive Jews believe the Torah was written by man.
