If you care to read the text of the boycott this has nothing to do with racism or for that matter antisemitism. You are not party to the UK press and news reports of the pain felt by academics who supported this boycott.
But they felt they have been driven to this point by the moral imperative, of seeing Israel time and again stick its middle finger up at the world`s calls to honour UN, EU, US and Quartet calls to end the Occupation and cease expanding the illegal settlements, whilst it gets on with ensuring it is municipally and demographically impossible for the Palestinians ever to have a contiguous State, ripping up olive trees, assaulting foreigners whilst its Police encourage such attacks or look the other way.
Of course, none of this would happen if Israelsimply does what has been asked of it for 40 years - withdraw from the non-Israeli territories it occupies and give peace a chance.
