This is a very positive sign for the Palestinians and a possible danger point for Israel. If the EU is snubbed by Israel (which, judging from its previous actions, it will) then it might make the EU more amenable to economic boycotts when the inevitable Israeli outrages occur in the future.
If Israel complies, then the door is opened slightly to request further concessions from Israel in an EU attempt to have the Israeli-Palestinian conflict begin to be resolved.
Either way, a win-win situation for the Palestinians. |
