Just get into a spot of bother and - Shazam! - claim dual nationality? "Israel unconditionally provided the United States with the thousands of documents it received from him" Whaaaat??!?!??! Israel refused to accept that he even WAS their spy, and the certainly did not detail to the USA all the stuff he handed over. They had to ask Pollard, and the little he DID remember gave the CIA chief apoplexy, coz it went way, way, beyond the sort of secrets that were of interest to Israel. Which could only mean that Israel wanted some of these secrets to on-sell to Other People. Might explain why the Israeli spooks didn`t "go out of their way", Melman; some uncomfortable questions would have followed any such approach. |
