Barak Ravid, Haaretz Correspondent, Haaretz Service and News Agencies: U.S. ambassador apologizes for remarks on convicted spy Pollard
Talkback
Title:Can someone explain why Polard should be freed?
Name:A Lebanese
City: State:
I`m lost. The guy, member of the Intelligence service of his country, spied for another country, and you say that he should be freed. Whether he did it for money or out of religious convictions does not matter. Does it? A spy is a spy. Why is Israel so adamant in getting him freed against all odds and justice principles? How do Americans react to that? Not only did their "best friend" betray them, but they want the one betrayed pardoned. And insist for that through every mean. It goes beyond my understanding.
