There is no doubt, the Muslims and Arabs in general, and Palestinian Arab Muslims in particular have little understanding of the concept of introspection and self-criticism, and the events of 1947/48 are a perfect example.
But there may be something deeper here. The Arabs of Eretz Israel (Land of Israel) at the time of partition, 1947/48, prior to that in 1937, and ever since, including today, do not even recognize the existence of the Jewish people as a people, let alone the right of the Jewish people to its nation-state within its historic homeland of Eretz Israel, on any part of it, so why be self-critical about 1948 if they don`t even recognize our right to be??
In fact, the glue that has held the Arabs of this Land together and made them a people - A Palestinian Arab People - has not been any unique characteristics of theirs, but rather their opposition to the Jewish existence in this Land. If they end this opposition they may cease to be. |
