I have said it on Haaretz before.
Keep invoking the Holocaust as a reason for whatever and you destroy and weaken firstly the sanctity of the people who were murdered, and the true message of the Holocaust.
Therefore the monuments to mass murder become meaningless, and the message of the perpetrators becomes revered.
Remember the majority of Europeans are not Jews. Their families did not suffer, they have no empathy with the Shoah.
They may know the facts, but in reality they are not bothered, it was nothing to do with them. |
