"Solana said suspending enrichment remained the condition for starting formal negotiations with Tehran, but as a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran would be entitled to a full civil nuclear program once it allayed legitimate suspicions."
This is an interesting distortion of Iran`s rights under the Non-Proliferation Treaty. Solana acknowledges that Iran is entitled to a peaceful nuclear programme, including uranium enrichment, but has added a subtle twist. Iran is required to PROVE that its intentions are peaceful. Iran`s enemies are not required to prove that its intentions are other than peaceful. So Iran is guilty until it proves itself innocent, giving everyone a clear view of how far the "judicial process" (if it can be called that) has been distorted and corrupted by the USA. The UN has been made a tool of American foreign policy. |
