If there report found the PM, Minister of Defense and chief of staff to have shown flawed actions and of being incapable, but there are no recommendations to replace them, than what was the point of this whole commission? Yes, Olmert allowed his actions to be determined by others, instead of managing the conflict himself or taking initiative. But that is exactly what Olmert is capable of doing. He will never see the entire picture of anything, never be capable of long term planning. So now we are left with a report that tells us what we already know, and which does not recommend anything that can be implemented that would truly change the picture in the future. If the report does not call for Olmert to step down, it has accomplished very little. A recommendation for Olmert`s resignation is in order. |
