| GABE 1: the report is hardly a glowing recommendation--long story short it concludes that collectively Halutz, Peretz, and Olmert, really didn`t know what they were doing. It is for the political system to draw conclusions that Olmert and Peretz should resign. It isn`t for a Committee to run Israel`s political life (the recommendation for Sharon to resign as Defense Minister was itself a short circuit of the political process--but was caused more by the process of his end-run around Begin than by a larger historical judgement). |
