| Some of us on the outside, those of us with no tangible business, no vote, no material investment in the project of the Jewish state still wake in the morning tinged with concern for the land and its people. The experiment of Jewish nationalism has not yet run its course; perhaps I can be a more active variable in the equation someday. For now, as Israeli independence is celebrated, I envy you, the lucky ones. |
