| Having seen the misrepresentation and sacrastic portrayls of the Irish people in such notable papers as the Financial Times of London, the Irish people know that "the news" is often slanted for political purposes; I am confident that the Irish people can make an intelligent judgement about the veracity (or not) of the totalitarians and fundamentalists of Gaza and much of the Middle East; I am also confident that the Irish respect any man or woman who doesn`t allow himself to be bombed by these totalitarians. The Irish nation has sympathy for who they consider the underdog in any fight due to their own history of oppression at the hands and boots of the English. To explain the history of the Jews in the Middle East to the Irish people one must be honest, intelligent and fair to all parties to this conflict. It is sometimes hard for me as a Jew to accept the choices the Irish have had to make e.g.help from Germany against the English but I do understand: it was politics. |
