It wants to keep pressure on Israel, and that is its chosen method of doing so. CJK: "Syria wants Israel to take the first step. Why does Syria want Israel to take the first step? What would that first step be?" Says who, Cipora? You are suggesting that SYRIA wants Israel to give something up first. A precondition. Syria has made no such demands. It has told Israel it`s negotiating position, and asked Israel to sit at the table and negotiate. It is ISRAEL who has made preconditions; Syria must change its behaviour BEFORE Israel sits at that table. That is a precondition. That is Israel`s demand, not Syria`s. You remind me of a saying regarding pots and kettles...... |
