Just to correct a few statements made in your responses. Speaking as someone who did experience the Second Exodus. First, I consider that the 1948 war produced a population exchange. Arabs left what became Israel and Jews left Arab countries that were hostile to them and made their stay untenable. It happened between Pakistan & India. Note: no refugee camps on any side. Yes, there was Operation Susannah but you can`t condemn a whole community for the actions of a few. Just as you can`t condemn the Muslim community of Britain for the terrorist acts of July 7. There were no `wealthy` Jews left in Egypt in the sixties. Indeed they left before anyone else. It is sad to see that Muslim antisemitism is on the rise in Egypt, just watch the Nile-culture channel !
