| Just to correct a few statements made in your responses. Speaking as someone who did experience the Second Exodus. First, I consider that the 1948 war produced a population exchange. Arabs left what became Israel and Jews left Arab countries that were hostile to them and made their stay untenable. It happened between Pakistan & India. Note: no refugee camps on any side. Yes, there was Operation Susannah but you can`t condemn a whole community for the actions of a few. Just as you can`t condemn the Muslim community of Britain for the terrorist acts of July 7. There were no `wealthy` Jews left in Egypt in the sixties. Indeed they left before anyone else.
